These are from couple of our first hikes on this trip. The St. Mary Falls were on a hike that had three different waterfalls (Virginia and Bering), but this one was the only one I felt like photographing. The glowing, Caribbean-colored water would have been irresistible had I not had an idea of how cold it would be — the ethereal blue color comes from light reflecting off the minerals and stuff that washes off the glacier that feeds it. A few brave souls were jumping from the bridge! (I did in fact swim in the very cold McDonald Creek on the last day, but only so I could say I did it!)
The Apgar Lookout hike provided great views and the widest selection of weather we encountered in any five-hour span. Going up, I wore a tank top. At the summit, I had to add a layer and continually wipe my eyes and nose against the bitter wind. On the way back to the car, we got soaked in a surprise hailstorm. Riding along in a cargo pocket on my leg, my Blackberry was nearly a drowning casualty.

I never knew Montana was so beautiful- know I know why you had such a tough time narrowing down to under a 100. Thanks for the pics.
