Tuesday sparkle: Ben-Amun

A little splurge that Mark talked me into (I was going to see if I could find a cheap, Chinese version on Harwin St., until he talked sense into me):

Love them!  They’re so sparkly.  What will I wear them with?  Oh, everything…but what will I wear them with first?  I have until Friday night to decide.

Double link leather wrap bracelet by Leila Jewelry

This photo is brought to you by my near-inability to take a photo of my own right arm:

Just another Billion Dollar Babes find.  It was a little bit of an impulse buy, but it is currently one of my favorite bracelets.  I don’t typically wear a lot of gold, but I’ll wear it just to go with this.  I had a little moment of panic when it first arrived because it seemed a bit short, but I did just a little gentle stretching and now it fits fine.

I really like Leila’s stuff — it’s a little bit girly and a little bit rock ‘n’ roll.  You can check it out here, but I’d strongly advise searching for a deal or waiting until it comes back to BDB, because that is way more than I paid.

Fall obsession

It’s finally sweater season in Houston!  But our threshold for sweaters is wimpier than in most of the country.  So I can still wear these:

dresses

…albeit with tights and a sweater.  That’s my fall obsession: tights.  I love them!  They’re comfortable and warm and durable, whereas conventional hosiery is pretty much single-use in my hands.  Plus they come in a million fun colors and patterns and remind me a little of childhood (when I probably hated them; funny how that works).

My height and weight combination falls somewhere outside of most hosiery sizing charts, but We Love Colors carries tights in an astounding array of sizes.  I have a couple pairs, couldn’t be happier with them, and am constantly looking for a reason I need more.

BTW, the dress on the left was a recent dirt-cheap acquisition from Limited’s end-of-season clearance.  The one of the right is by Hale Bob (love their prints), and it was a Billion Dollar Babes score.  The BDB price was substantially less than Hale-Bob’s own sale price!  The colors were somewhat different than the pictures had led me to believe, which is always a risk when you’re ordering something you can’t return, but it worked out in my favor this time.

Bonus action shot (no tights, alas):

Bug bracelet by Meghan Fabulous

If you hadn’t noticed, I have a preoccupation with insects:

bug bracelet

When this popped up on Billion Dollar Babes, my other go-to online trunk sale besides Editors’ Closet, I knew I had to have it.  I’m careful about ordering solid bracelets because I have large hands that can’t squeeze through those cute Indian bangles that come in stacks of a dozen for dirt cheap, but the provided measurement suggested that this would be no problem.

Of course when I received it, I could not get it over my right hand to save my life.  Miraculously, it somehow fits on my left.  Good enough.
